A New Year - A New Beginning

Here we are at Week One of 2009. Thank goodness 2008 is over and we can move on. You need to find a job.

Don't let yourself be put off by what you are hearing from the news media. Is the market tight? Yes.. Are there jobs out there? Yes...
And you can find one. But, what do you want to do?

A job search can be described as an emotional roller coaster from “the highest highs” to “the lowest lows.” One must stand ready to continue to look for the next golden path. It is easy to get discouraged and stalled in the job search process.

The question then becomes: what kind of job do I want to transition into too? Can I continue with what I have been doing?

The job market is competitive with more applicants than jobs. Whole industries have disappeared and new ones have sprung to life. The market of the last five years has proven that it is constantly changing. How do you change with it?

Every job hunt is different and should be geared towards you individually. Start your research. What industries are growing? What companies have stayed financially strong?

Get started. It's a New Year, don't let anything stop you from achieving your goal. And while you are hard at work, treat yourself to our recipe for some great hot chocolate. Go ahead, you earned it!
